This Privacy Policy explains how Cal Crew ("we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using Cal Crew, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account and crew.
To calculate your daily calorie goal and show your history, streak, and ranking.
To analyze food photos and return an estimated calorie and nutrient value.
To send you the reminders and crew notifications you enable.
To process and validate subscriptions.
To keep the App secure, fix bugs, and improve features.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted service providers who process data on our behalf. Each has its own privacy policy:

Apple — Sign in with Apple and subscription billing.
Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging) — account, crew sync, and notifications.
RevenueCat — subscription management and validation.
OneSignal — push notification delivery.
OpenAI — AI analysis of the food photos and text you submit. Photos are sent only when you request an analysis.
Open Food Facts & USDA FoodData Central — barcode and food nutrition lookups.

4. Data Stored on Your Device

Your settings and recent entries are also stored locally on your device so the App works smoothly. This local data is removed when you delete the App.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Limited information (your display name, daily calorie total, and ranking) is visible to members of a crew you join, because that is the purpose of the crew feature. Otherwise we share data only with the service providers listed above to operate the App, or when required by law.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account and data inside the App. This action is irreversible. You may also contact us at the email below to request deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

Cal Crew is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored with our service providers using industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion tool or email us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the App.
